Coatings & Construction
A liquid or semi-solid material that is applied to a surface to create a protective or decorative coating. A coating is typically composed of a pigment, a binder, a solvent or carrier, and additives that provide specific properties such as colour, durability, and resistance to weathering, chemicals, and abrasion.
They can be used to protect surfaces from damage caused by environmental factors such as moisture, sunlight, and air pollution. It can also be used to add colour, texture, and design to surfaces, making them more visually appealing.
Construction chemicals are chemical formulations used with masonry materials, cement, concrete or other construction materials at the time of construction to hold the construction materials together. These compounds are added to concrete and mortar to enhance compatibility with the structure of buildings and improve properties such as durability, surface finish, compressive strength and resistance to undesirable working conditions, and climatic conditions. Types of construction chemicals include, Concrete Admixtures, Waterproofing Chemicals, Protective Coatings, Adhesives and Sealants, Concrete Repair, Grouts & Anchoring, and Flooring Systems.
Markets Served
Paints and coatings have evolved from the simple Early Man colours on cave walls into a primary protective barrier between our possessions and our environment. Paints and Coatings encompasses a number of subsets, including decorative paints, industrial coatings, powder coatings, plasters & renders, and printing inks.
Adhesives are more rigid and durable than sealants, since they're designed to keep two surfaces stuck to each other over long periods of time strongly enough so they can't be separated. They have a more highly cross-linked, more complex molecular structure than that of sealants, which aids their ability to grip and bind surfaces together.
Sealants are much more flexible than adhesives, since they usually contain an elastomer, with a molecular structure that is loosely cross-linked and a generally paste-like consistency. This lets them fill gaps between the surfaces of components or substrates to form air-tight and water-tight barriers.
Concrete is a composite material composed of aggregate bonded together with a fluid cement that cures over time. Concrete is the second-most-used substance in the world after water, and is the most widely used building material.
Mortars are generally applied as a bonding material, whereas concrete's primary use is structural support. Dry mortars are sold as a powder and offer a much longer shelf life than wet mortars. Wet mortar typically comes premixed, while dry mortar powder is mixed on-site. Dry mortar also has a much lower water content than standard mortar. We offer a broad range of products and expertise for the wide array of dry mortar applications including facades, tiling, flooring, and technical mortars
Light-weighting is an established global trend in a variety of industries and applications. It makes manufacturing products and living in our world easier. Conveniently, formulators can achieve light-weighting by adding specifically engineered fillers to their recipes. Such lightweight fillers can overcome challenges concerning product quality and functionality, especially in the construction sector. For building professionals’ lightweight fillers offer a great potential to support improvements in product properties, especially weight, and application procedures, which expands the comfort zone for people.
